I am definitely a left brain person. I am very analitical and think way to much into things. I am not really in touch with my right brain. I feel like I am creative though I am not very artistic. I try to be artistic though the extent of my artistic ability is drawing stick figures. I loved art this semester and believe I will keep blogging it has be a fun experience that will help me keep in touch with my right brain. I hate always worrying when my left brain makes me worrying sometimes I think life right brained would be much easier. After all a right brained person is never wrong.

Cat in the Hat
The movie Cat in the Hat demonstrates bunches of art. This book made movie is an artists imagination coming to life. Dr. Seuss the author of the book Cat in the Hat was an artist himself so for his creation to go on and become a movie masterpiece there would definitely have to be art displayed in that movie. The way The Cat in the Hat is portrayed in that movie is artistic in itself it must have taken hours on hours for Mike Meyers to be transformed into his character the Cat in the Hat. This movie inspired by an artist and author definitely shows art and film intertwined. This is a great artistic movie that is fascinating to watch.
Chris Johnson
Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans is on path to break the NFLs single season rushing record. He has rushed for over 100 yards in 9 of the 10 games he has played in this year. This guy definitely needs to be considered as one of the premiere running backs in the league. This guy chomps up yards, better than Kobiyashi chomps up hot dogs. This guy is definitely a thrill to watch, because he is a combination of speed and power. He has shiftiness yet he can "truck you". This guy is utterly amazing. Stay tuned to see if he gets that rushing record.
Brett Favre
Brett Favre is by far the best NFL Quarterback to walk on the face of the Earth. To be 40 years old this year and be in the running for the league Most Valuable Player Award is astonishing. He has proved his critics wrong and most importantly he has proved to Ted Thompson and the Green Bay Packers that they made the wrong move. #4 is a legacy for the 10-1 Vikings Brett Favre this year has only thrown 3 interceptions. Just in the month of November alone he threw for 12 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Still many believe that both Drew Brees and Peyton Manning stand a better chance at winning the MVP award. To those people I say wait until the end of the season, because I believe that in the end Favre and the Vikings will be holding the Lombardi Trophy and Favre will have yet another MVP award.
Artist in Society
Artists in society are often unknown and misunderstood. My people do not understand artists and how they interact in society. Though in museums artists are held at a very high esteem. People love artists where they are supposed to be, but when artists venture out in places they are not supposed to be they are scorned. For instance in the museums and galleries art is okay. If art slips out from those places in to places such as the side of a building art is no longer view with high esteem.
Football is a Culture
Football is a culture because of all the discipline it teaches. Football teaches efficiency and perfection. Football stresses that you must work your very hardest to be the best you can be. It shows that with hard work anything is possible to achieve. Football teaches the saying, "If you believe, you can achieve." Football teaches accountability and stresses that you must be on time. Except in football if you are late you are punished by running or other strenus activities. It gets you better than the real world in a sense that you get punished but getting punished is better than getting fired. Football in general is a culture because it teaches young men how to become get adult men. Football teaches young men to do their best in everything and to compete in a non competitive activity so that success is always evident.
Public Art
Public Art is something hard to explain. Public Art is everywhere outside the buildings that we work and live in. Like the photos below show public art is often bizzarre, but it carries great meaning. The one I like to call "Big Blue Bear" seems comical yet intriguing to me. I dont really understand public art, but from what I can tell it is meant to show a meaning only known to the artist who built it.
"Bad"
I said I'm Bad. This music video revolutionized the music video industry along with the music industry in a whole. "Bad" is a great music video that shows a lot of art in it. The dance moves displayed in this music video make it parralelled to none. Jackson shows through this music video why he is the King of Pop. This is my favorite of Jackson's music video's it has great art in both the dance and lyrics. This is an awesome, artful music video.
Poetry Slam
Some people believe that poetry is not art just because it is a form of writing. As I stated though in my previous post I believe that art is anything and everything. That includes writing. Writing is a way to express one's feelings and emotions and art is whatever expresses emotion. Poetry is amazing, it almost expresses better than paintings do. Poetry is honestly my favorite way to express myself their are just so many feelings and emotions that can be shown and displayed by poetry. A great poet I like is Paul Laurence Dunbar. This is a little bit of his work called "Life."
A crust of bread and a corner to sleep in,
A minute to smile and an hour to weep in,
A pint of joy to a peck of trouble,
And never a laugh but the moans come double;
And that is life!
A crust and a corner that love makes precious,
With a smile to warm and the tears to refresh us;
And joy seems sweeter when cares come after,
And a moan is the finest of foils for laughter;
And that is life!
I know what Art Is
Before this year I never thought that art was so evident in everyday life. Since taking Intro to Art this semester I have learned that art is pretty much everything and everywhere. I learned that even if you are not an artist and are not artistic you can still make art. I mean who thought of signing a urinal and turning it upside down would be art. Art this year has broadened my horizons. I also finding myself noticing art more and more in my life. It's like I have opened my once closed eyes to the art world around me. Art is whatever you make it whether, made, or felt it doesn't matter. Art is anything. Marcel DuChamp believed that, as you can see by his "Fountain", but if he can why can't me and you.

Art Education in Schools
Art Education in Schools is something that must stay. The schools do not teach things enough that are right brain. The left brain is always used and the right brain never gets tested in the US schools today. The real deal is that the schools need art education in them. If the world did not have art, the world would be an extremely boring. Art and learning about art spices up life. With only math problems to deal with life would be a drag. So yes im definitely for Art Education in Schools
