I am definitely a left brain person. I am very analitical and think way to much into things. I am not really in touch with my right brain. I feel like I am creative though I am not very artistic. I try to be artistic though the extent of my artistic ability is drawing stick figures. I loved art this semester and believe I will keep blogging it has be a fun experience that will help me keep in touch with my right brain. I hate always worrying when my left brain makes me worrying sometimes I think life right brained would be much easier. After all a right brained person is never wrong.

Cat in the Hat
The movie Cat in the Hat demonstrates bunches of art. This book made movie is an artists imagination coming to life. Dr. Seuss the author of the book Cat in the Hat was an artist himself so for his creation to go on and become a movie masterpiece there would definitely have to be art displayed in that movie. The way The Cat in the Hat is portrayed in that movie is artistic in itself it must have taken hours on hours for Mike Meyers to be transformed into his character the Cat in the Hat. This movie inspired by an artist and author definitely shows art and film intertwined. This is a great artistic movie that is fascinating to watch.
Chris Johnson
Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans is on path to break the NFLs single season rushing record. He has rushed for over 100 yards in 9 of the 10 games he has played in this year. This guy definitely needs to be considered as one of the premiere running backs in the league. This guy chomps up yards, better than Kobiyashi chomps up hot dogs. This guy is definitely a thrill to watch, because he is a combination of speed and power. He has shiftiness yet he can "truck you". This guy is utterly amazing. Stay tuned to see if he gets that rushing record.
Brett Favre
Brett Favre is by far the best NFL Quarterback to walk on the face of the Earth. To be 40 years old this year and be in the running for the league Most Valuable Player Award is astonishing. He has proved his critics wrong and most importantly he has proved to Ted Thompson and the Green Bay Packers that they made the wrong move. #4 is a legacy for the 10-1 Vikings Brett Favre this year has only thrown 3 interceptions. Just in the month of November alone he threw for 12 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Still many believe that both Drew Brees and Peyton Manning stand a better chance at winning the MVP award. To those people I say wait until the end of the season, because I believe that in the end Favre and the Vikings will be holding the Lombardi Trophy and Favre will have yet another MVP award.
Artist in Society
Artists in society are often unknown and misunderstood. My people do not understand artists and how they interact in society. Though in museums artists are held at a very high esteem. People love artists where they are supposed to be, but when artists venture out in places they are not supposed to be they are scorned. For instance in the museums and galleries art is okay. If art slips out from those places in to places such as the side of a building art is no longer view with high esteem.
Football is a Culture
Football is a culture because of all the discipline it teaches. Football teaches efficiency and perfection. Football stresses that you must work your very hardest to be the best you can be. It shows that with hard work anything is possible to achieve. Football teaches the saying, "If you believe, you can achieve." Football teaches accountability and stresses that you must be on time. Except in football if you are late you are punished by running or other strenus activities. It gets you better than the real world in a sense that you get punished but getting punished is better than getting fired. Football in general is a culture because it teaches young men how to become get adult men. Football teaches young men to do their best in everything and to compete in a non competitive activity so that success is always evident.
Public Art
Public Art is something hard to explain. Public Art is everywhere outside the buildings that we work and live in. Like the photos below show public art is often bizzarre, but it carries great meaning. The one I like to call "Big Blue Bear" seems comical yet intriguing to me. I dont really understand public art, but from what I can tell it is meant to show a meaning only known to the artist who built it.
"Bad"
I said I'm Bad. This music video revolutionized the music video industry along with the music industry in a whole. "Bad" is a great music video that shows a lot of art in it. The dance moves displayed in this music video make it parralelled to none. Jackson shows through this music video why he is the King of Pop. This is my favorite of Jackson's music video's it has great art in both the dance and lyrics. This is an awesome, artful music video.
Poetry Slam
Some people believe that poetry is not art just because it is a form of writing. As I stated though in my previous post I believe that art is anything and everything. That includes writing. Writing is a way to express one's feelings and emotions and art is whatever expresses emotion. Poetry is amazing, it almost expresses better than paintings do. Poetry is honestly my favorite way to express myself their are just so many feelings and emotions that can be shown and displayed by poetry. A great poet I like is Paul Laurence Dunbar. This is a little bit of his work called "Life."
A crust of bread and a corner to sleep in,
A minute to smile and an hour to weep in,
A pint of joy to a peck of trouble,
And never a laugh but the moans come double;
And that is life!
A crust and a corner that love makes precious,
With a smile to warm and the tears to refresh us;
And joy seems sweeter when cares come after,
And a moan is the finest of foils for laughter;
And that is life!
I know what Art Is
Before this year I never thought that art was so evident in everyday life. Since taking Intro to Art this semester I have learned that art is pretty much everything and everywhere. I learned that even if you are not an artist and are not artistic you can still make art. I mean who thought of signing a urinal and turning it upside down would be art. Art this year has broadened my horizons. I also finding myself noticing art more and more in my life. It's like I have opened my once closed eyes to the art world around me. Art is whatever you make it whether, made, or felt it doesn't matter. Art is anything. Marcel DuChamp believed that, as you can see by his "Fountain", but if he can why can't me and you.

Art Education in Schools
Art Education in Schools is something that must stay. The schools do not teach things enough that are right brain. The left brain is always used and the right brain never gets tested in the US schools today. The real deal is that the schools need art education in them. If the world did not have art, the world would be an extremely boring. Art and learning about art spices up life. With only math problems to deal with life would be a drag. So yes im definitely for Art Education in Schools

Michael Jackson
Annie are you Ok. shows a lot of struggle to me it show that something must have happened to Annie. Behavior shown to me by Michael Jackson would have to be "Bad" he says im bad im bad im really really bad. He wants to show everyone his behavior is Bad. Billie Jean ain't my love explains the human nature, because sometimes you love someone that just doesn't love you. Even though you try so hard to make them yours they just dont want you. Michael Jackson put everything he had into his music and dance. He used his dance and music as a way to express his feelings about life, loved ones, and his past and future. He demonstrated his wants and dreams he used his music and dance to speak to everyone of us whether we were listening or not.
Ballet
Ballet is definitely an artist form of dance. Dance is great in general, because it lets you express yourself in a way that you dont normally do. Ballet to me isnt just dance though, it is dance that is made into an art form. Just how the girls jump up and twirl is artistic. Being able to use your body as something so beautiful as interpretive dance. I just think that ballet is art not just because it is dance, but because it makes art in the action of the dance.

Tim Tebow
Tim Tebow is by far the highest character guy in the NCAA. The guy loves people as if they are his own family. He always tries to do the right thing and loves God with all he has. This is a guy I really look up to and I appreciate what he is doing for the game of football. He reaches out to people every year when he travels to third world countries to spread the word of God and help the underprivlegded people. This guy even tries to reach out to people on the football field with the bible verses he puts on his eye paint. The fight that Tebow has is just amazing. Like he said he may not be the fastest guy, the strongest guy, the most winningest quarterback, and he might not have won the most championships but he gives his all everyday which makes him a great player to watch. He says he may not be the best player, but he practices everyday to become the best player he can be. To me Tim Tebow has set a standard of not only work ethic, but also how to be a great person in today's society. This guy is a true warrior who will win this 3rd National Championship this year, and believe me it is well deserved.
Saints vs. Patriots
The Saints and Drew Brees will definitely beat the Patriots and Tom Brady this weekend. The NFL has it's great quarterback's and not many believe Drew Brees is one of those greats. I believe though that the most accurate passer (Drew Brees) in the NFL the last 3 years is one of the nations best QBs. Tom Brady is a great as well but I think this year Brees has the better team this year. Nevertheless the 7-3 Patriots will take on the 10-0 Saints, and even though the Saints are 10-0 many say the Patriots will win. This will be one of the best games this week. It will definitely be a great game between two great quarterbacks. The Saints are at home this week though and voodoo magic is at work in New Orleans. Good luck Patriots but you cannot get it done this week in the Superdome.

Graffiti
Graffiti is a real form of art. Art is anything that shows expression of how you feel. Graffiti is something that shows many different types of expression. The Graffiti photos I have, as you can see, are all very different. One of the main reasons that i do believe Graffiti is art is because of the creativity that goes into makin a graffiti artwork. Many people do graffiti for many different reasons, whether for fun, a challenge, for a group, or hired to do graffiti art for someone. To do graffiti you definitely have to be a very artistic person. This is one reason I have so much praise for graffiti artists is because I know that I could not create a piece of artwork have a appealing as this graffiti art. So as far as the graffiti beat goes, graffiti is definitely art for the many reasons I have mentioned. GO GRAFFITI!!!!! It is a growing form of artwork that will only rise and will probably never fade away. So I say don't deny whether graffiti is artwork or not. What I say is embrace graffiti for the creativeness it brings to human life.
Taipei 101
The world's tallest building definitely has to be my favorite piece of architecture. Taipei 101 stands at 1,671 feet and is the largest building in the world by 188 feet. This building definitely has to be considered a great piece of architechture. To be able to build a building that is that tall is utterly amazing. The fact that a building can stand that high and not fall intrigues me. Taipei 101 also has the fastest elevators ever made. The elevators were designed by Toshiba and travel at a speed of 38 miles per hour when ascending. The elevators travel at a rate of 19 miles per hour when descending. These state-of-the-art elevators can take you from the 5th floor to the 89th floor in just 39 seconds. This piece of architecture has to be a work of art, because of the many records it has broken. Though not only because of this reason. The look and shape of the Taipei 101 was new and revolutionized the way that buildings are made. Taipei 101 is definitely architechture that is a work of art.
Human Nature
This picture depicts human nature. This is a painting of humans interacting in nature. The people are having a nice day on the water. It seems like they may be doing some fishing. Then it seems that they are distracted by the very large dolphin that jumps from the water. This shows nature really well showing one of the most beautiful things in this world a dolphin. The human are enjoying and interacting with nature. This painting really depicts, to me, the human nature.
Human Behavior
The words human behavior can describe so many things. I choose a piece of artwork that depicts a very bad type of human behavior. I like to call this type of human behavior as "Rage." Something that could make someone so mad that they lose all sense of control. This behavior dosen't happen very often to many of us but it is always they many times when us humans do not get our way. As you can see in this painting the one man is holding a gun on the other man. This symbolizes that something has ticked the one man off enough to want to kill the man. I think the large eyes looking on in the background symbolizes society looking on as the one man kills the other man. The next large item we notice is the light with the hand inside of it. I feel that this symbolizes God looking on as the one man commits a sin, but also watching as he sees one of his people coming to join him in Heaven. This painting shows human behavior in an extreme way.
Pandemonium
My most favorite artist is John Martin. I saw some of his work at the High Museum of Art when i visited earlier this year. His art was amazing. The main reason that he is my favorite artist is because of this one particular piece of art. Pandemonium is my overall favorite piece of art work. I reminds me of the movie 300 which happens to be one of my favorites. I believe that this artwork depicts the Roman Empire both the rise and fall all in one painting. The Roman standing on the rock high above the lava shows the rise of the Roman Empire. The lava symbolizes the hard brute force that the Romans used to take over most of the Eastern Hemisphere. Though the lava I feel also symbolizes the turmoil that ended the reign of the Romans as the world power. The symbolism shown in this picture is the same symbolism that John Martin shows in all of his artwork. The symbolism that Martin depicts in his art is just one of the many reasons I believe that John Martin is the most amazing artist ever.

Hopeless
There are many different types of human condition. What I chose for the human condition was hopelessness. Hopelessness is something we never want to experience as humans though it does happen to us sometimes. There are certain times in our lives where we can not control what happens and when that happens we feel helpless and hopeless. There is also a feeling of hopelessness when we have been beaten down by society. The hopelessness that we feel is only a phase we can come out of it, but it will take hard work. The art I choose for my hopelessness human condition was Billy Gong's "Hopeless." As you can see in the picture the man does look hopeless. You can also see the sun setting as he walks towards it. I feel that the sun is the way to coming out of the man's hopelessness. He is on the journey out of hopelessness but the symbolism of how far the sun is away symbolizes the hard work and struggle to become successful again. This artwork definitely shows the human condition.
Deadliest Catch
The Human Struggle is something that is very broad and can be identified by many different things. I believe that the Deadliest Catch (the catching of Alaskan Snow Crab) is one of the largest areas of Human Struggle. The Deadliest Catch lives up to it's name. This particular activity has four Snow Crab fisherman die every year on the Alaskan seas. Just the setting of this activity is a human struggle. There is a good chance every year that the fisherman get pneumonia and or fall in the water. The water is 0 degrees farenheit and you will go into paralysis almost immediately when you hit the water. Death is a real thing for this job, and that's why it is the deadliest job in the world. This is truly a human struggle.
Coach Purses
The Coach purses I know for sure are definitely art. The designs on these purses are considered as Op Art. I believe that the reason the name of this purse is name Coach is because the leather that the purse creators used was similar to that of the leather in a baseball glove. "Coach handbags got it’s start when it’s founder noticed how distinctive the leather used in baseball gloves was and how well it lasted in spite of rough handling. So began Coach handbags in 1941 with their first refined leather bags, built to stand the test of time. Six artists began Coach in a loft in Manhattan, New York and the company has since stayed in New York in a larger location to allow for it’s expansion. Only the top 10% of quality leather is chosen to become a Coach handbag and the leather is slow cured in large drums with rotation for several days. The leather is enriched with natural treatments which produces a softening effect to bring out the individual grain of each piece of leather." (Henrietta Timmons, 2005). As Timmons explains the Coach company was founded by six artists which validates my point even further that the Coach purse is a form of fashion art.
Shrek
The movie Shrek to me is definitely a work of art to me. The animation used in the movie was simply amazing. The thought of using all the characters in all of the Shrek movies was amazing as well. The thought of a movie about an ugly ogre that lives in the woods and to make the movie a hit seems impossible. The animation of Shrek and the other characters along with the colors and story line of the movie definitely have to be considered art. Many people may not think this movie is art just simply because it is a movie. What I would say to those people is for them to come up with a great idea such as Shrek. Then after they came up with Shrek, I would tell them to draw the animation of him and his supporting cast. Then make the storyline. After all of that make their own creation a hit at the box office. All of these things put together make the movie Shrek a work of art definitely.

4 & 2
The NFL is caught up with the whole 4 & 2 play that the Patriots did like 2 weeks ago. Who cares if the call that coach Bill Belichick made was right or not. In the game of football you make good decisions and you make bad decisions but you live with them no matter what the outcome. They didn't convert on the 4 & 2, but the media will not let it go. Yes, it probably was the wrong move, because you really shouldn't go for it on your own 28 yardline with the lead. And yes it did set up for the Peyton Manning lead Colts to run down the field and score to win the game. Like I said though you make good choices and bad this one by Belichick just turn out to be the wrong choice. My main point though is that the media should just let it go it isn't that big of a deal and it wasn't that season changing. The Patriot's will still make it to the playoffs and will probably have a rematch with the Colt's before season's end.
